Our first workshop happened on 2019 at Regent University Campus, Ghana.
We had representatives from Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia,
Ghana, Namibia, South Sudan, Sudan and Zambia partook with us to graze our grand event.
Objectives
Actively explore Pv and Po presence in all of Africa.
Standardize approach to sample collection, detection, data entry and reporting.
Have metrics of Pv and Po infections for global comparisons.
Have NMCPs assisted to incorporate Pv and Po plans in their surveys and treatment strategies.
Examine parasite transmission dynamics carefully in Africa: Hypnozoites:- bone marrow and liver stages.
Interrogate host factors in Pv and Po drug therapy.
Provide mentorship and training for young scientists in Pv and Po research.
