PAVON is a network of centres of excellence to strengthen Malaria Surveillance and pandemic preparedness in Africa.

Why PAVON

PAVON seeks to bridge the knowledge gap in P. Vivax and P. Ovale geospatial epidemiology, asymptomatic malaria and NMCPs uptake of the available knowledge for policy decisions

  • PAVON was founded on June 7, 2019 in Accra Ghana
  • There were 14 countries who were foundational.
  • Our doors are open to all African researchers in malaria research

Mission

Is to facilitate and sustain cross talk between
African Pv scientists, NMCPs, RBM and WHO-AFRO.

Vision

Is to have Africa free of Plasmodium vivax (Pv)
and Plasmodium ovale (Po).
